Sermorelin 101: Peptide Potential

Studies suggest that hormones have an important part to play in all the functions produced by cells. Over time, the secretion of vital hormones declines. Growth hormone (hGH) is one such hormone, considered responsible for the development of bones and muscular tissues. Research has been extensive on growth hormone level supplementation, and peptides have presented a new frontier in hormone decline research.

What Is Sermorelin?

A mixture of 29 different amino acids makes up the peptide known as Sermorelin acetate, also sometimes referred to as GRF 1-29. This combination is called a Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone, sometimes called GHRH. This particular peptide, sometimes referred to as a hormone, is designed to act as a stimulant on a gland known as the pituitary gland to increase the level of growth hormone naturally produced.

Research suggests that the peptide, unlike some other compounds, does not necessarily introduce exogenous hormones; instead, it may possibly stimulate natural production hGH. Findings imply that the combination of certain amino acids may produce these peptides, which are then employed to potentially stimulate the pituitary gland to support sufficient levels of growth hormone secretion.

Sermorelin, however, has been synthetically synthesized from a particular combination of amino acids to allegedly provide an effect analogous to the natural peptide. In these circumstances, the peptide in question is referred to as Sermorelin acetate, and it is made up of the acetate salt of the synthetic amino acid combination [1].

Sermorelin Peptide Potential

Researchers have suggested that Sermorelin Acetate may be related to a significant variety of physiological impacts. Scientists hypothesize that one of these properties may be a slower rate of organ decline. The following is a summary of some of the suggested findings that have been noted by researchers during experimental studies [2]:

  • Growth hormone production may increase
  • A natural increase in the levels of IGF-1 may follow
  • Immune system function may improve
  • Cardiac functioning may improve
  • Lean muscle cells may proliferate
  • Lipolysis may occur
  • Tissue damage may reknit more rapidly than control groups
  • Bone density and calcium retention may increase
  • Cognitive function may improve

hGH vs. Sermorelin

Researchers have generally reported that Sermorelin Acetate has not been found to supply Growth Hormones obtained from exogenous sources, rather it has been posited instead to support the release of natural production.

Growth hormone derived from exogenous sources has presented multi-facets ancillary consequences in research, many of which have been found prohibitive to natural functioning. Sermorelin has been suggested to possibly potentiate a sustained production of growth hormone.

Concluding Remarks

Regarding increasing levels of growth hormone, the synthetic peptide Sermorelin Acetate, composed of several different amino acids, has been suggested by researchers to positively impact production levels and thereby potentially improve physiological functioning.
